Aliquot Archive

The Aliquot Archive page is the laboratory's storage register: it lists every aliquot physically held in storage, where it is, how long it must be retained and whether it has been disposed of (ISO/IEC 17025 §7.4 handling of test items, §7.5 technical records). From here you track aliquots approaching the end of retention and record their disposal with a reason.

Found under: Reagents & Storage → Aliquot Archive.

Record Actions

Clicking the ⋮ icon on each row shows:

  • Edit — Open the aliquot form: Purpose, Storage Location, Container, Volume / Mass, Preservation, Retain Until, Prep Notes, Prep Method SOP
  • Dispose — Record the disposal of the aliquot. A Disposal Reason is required; the aliquot moves to the "Disposed" status and the disposal date is filled in. For an aliquot that is already disposed, only an informational message is shown
  • Delete — Delete the record (with confirmation)

Notes

  • The table opens with the Needs attention filter, so aliquots that are overdue or due soon are shown first.
  • The register lists every aliquot physically in storage regardless of status; only the "Disposed" filter constrains by status.
  • Disposal is an archival action: the record stays, with its reason and date, as evidence for audit.
