Reagents

The Reagents screen is the catalogue of the reagents and consumables the lab uses (ISO/IEC 17025 §6.4). Each reagent is a "what it is" entry, while the specific lots you have on the shelf are kept separately (see Reagent Lots).

In-use expiry (§6.6)

A sealed bottle and an opened one do not expire on the same day. Fill in Stability after opening and every lot of the reagent expires at the earlier of the two: the certificate date, or the opening date plus the stability days.

That date is not decorative. It is the date read by the lot's status, by the expiry filters on Reagent Lots, and by the expiry notifications. When the post-opening expiry is the binding one, the lot shows it beside the opening date as "in use until", in amber — so it is visible why it expires earlier than the certificate.

The reagent's page

Clicking a reagent opens its own page, with its lots as an ordinary grid: lot number, supplier, dates, certificate, stock and status. Lots are added and corrected from there.

Notes

  • To add a reagent, press New Reagent. Lots are added from the reagent's page, once it has been saved.
  • The catalogue can be printed or exported to CSV for the accreditation records (§6.4).
  • You cannot delete a reagent that still has lots — remove its lots first.
