Settings

The Settings page is the central place to configure the entire laboratory, organised into thematic sections. Most settings are available only to the Lab Director, since they affect how the whole system operates. Some sections appear depending on the lab's plan and enabled features.

Identity & Accreditation

  • Laboratory Info — name, address, phone, social media, currency
  • Accreditation Info — accreditation body, certificate number, scope
  • Quality Manual — quality policy, objectives, impartiality (§8.2 / §8.9.1)

Reports & Printing

  • Report Settings — footer, logo, sections, map, charts
  • Print Templates — PDF template configuration (colours, font, watermark)
  • Chart Elements — which elements appear on analysis charts
  • Label Settings — sample label formatting (barcode / QR)

Numbering & Calendar

  • Document Numbering — format (prefix included) and counter per document type (SAM, RPT, CAPA, etc.)
  • Calendar Settings — appearance and behaviour of the work calendar

User & Appearance

  • Preferences — application language and display theme
  • Quick Access — menu shortcuts at the top of the sidebar
  • Help Settings — display of help guides and videos

Communication & Notifications

  • Email Settings (SMTP) — outgoing email server
  • myDATA Settings — connection to the AADE myDATA platform
  • Notifications — your own personal push notifications
  • Client Email Notifications — automated messages to customers for samples and reports

Security & Access

  • Security — multi-factor authentication and password policies
  • Role Permissions — which actions each role is allowed
  • API Keys — managing keys for API access

System

  • Backups — Google Drive, Google Calendar, USB, FTP, Dropbox, or manual
  • Artificial Intelligence — settings for the AI features
  • Subscription — subscription and plan details
  • System Incidents — the platform failure register, maintained by the provider (§7.11.3e)

It is worth spending a little time in Settings during the initial setup — getting the configuration right here makes all the day-to-day work that follows run more smoothly.
