Calendar

The built-in calendar lets you manage lab events, deadlines and appointments with month, week, day and list views.

  • Use the arrows to go to the previous/next month, week or day
  • Click "Today" to return to the current date
  • Switch view: Month / Week / Day / List from the toolbar buttons

Creating an Event

Every calendar event is a lab appointment/task, not a plain personal reminder.

  1. Click on an empty day or time slot in the calendar (in Week/Day view you can also drag across multiple time slots to set start and end time directly)
  2. Fill in the start date/time (required); if the event is not all-day, also set the end time
  3. Select Technician, Contact, Analysis Type, Crop, Regional Unit and City/Village — all required; Toponym and Comments are optional
  4. Optionally: change the calendar display colour, or open the Google Calendar section for recurrence, event colour, reminders or guests
  5. Click "Save"
There is no separate "title" field — the title shown on the event is composed automatically from the contact's name (or the comments, if no contact is set).

Editing & Deleting

  • Click on an existing event to open a popup with its details
  • Click the edit icon in the popup to open the edit form, modify the fields and click "Save"
  • To delete, click the delete icon in the popup — deletion happens immediately, with no further confirmation

Google Calendar Sync

Go to Settings → Backup → Google Calendar to enable synchronisation. Events created, updated, or deleted in the app are pushed to the selected Google calendar. Changes made directly in Google Calendar are not reflected back in the app.

Requires Google Cloud Console OAuth 2.0 credentials (the same ones used for Google Drive backup).

Mobile Views

On mobile devices, the calendar adapts automatically:

Desktop ViewMobile View
Month (full)Mini calendar + agenda
Week (7 days)3-day view
DayDay (same)

Switching is done via the pill segmented control at the top.

When the calendar opens on a mobile device, it automatically switches to Day view — pick Month or Week from the top to see the adapted layouts above.

Tip: A single tap on an event always opens the details popup, on both mobile and desktop — the edit form only opens if you tap the edit icon inside it.
